Story

Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On July 3rd, I will be starting a 6 day cycle ride from Lands End to John O'Groats, averaging approximately 150 miles per day.

I am doing this in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Support, who provide support to people suffering from cancer in a number of ways (nursing in-home and at dedicated centres, financial and practical support) - see http://www.macmillan.org.uk/Aboutus/WhatWeDo/What_we_do.aspx

I chose this charity, because my aunt passed away as a result of cancer in 2006 and more recently last year, a good family friend Patricia Gamester also bravely fought terminal cancer and received support from Macmillan nurses at her home, enabling her to spend her last months surrounded by her family.

I hope that any money raised will help Macmillan to continue with the valuable work they do, in improving quality of life for cancer sufferers.

Many people are affected by cancer either directly or indirectly, so please dig deep and help me with my challenge!

Why Friends of the Ends?

People who cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats (and vice versa) are known as End to Enders, hence 'Friends of the Ends'.

Now for the official bit...

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
