In May 2010, my beautiful middle daughter, Meghan (13) was diagnosed with Craniopharyngioma, a rare benign brain tumour which affects less than 20 children in the UK each year.
As you can imagine, this turned our world upside down. Meghan was extremely brave and when admitted to King's College Hospital (Lion Ward) she amazed the hospital staff with her courage and won them over with her smile.
Meghan had two operations at King's under the expert care of Chris Chandler and Nick Thomas who are two of the UK's leading neurosurgeons and was cared for by the amazing staff of Lion Ward which is a paediatric neurosurgical ward.
Meghan spent just over two weeks at King's and now has regular follow-ups there with the neurosurgical, endocrine and opthamological teams.
Despite some ongoing conditions which have occurred as a result of the surgery - loss of peripheral vision, diabetes insipidus and thyroid insufficiency, Meghan is now back at school and has decided that 2011 should be the year the Frost family raise money for Lion Ward to thank them for everything they have done for us.
I have decided to do a tandem skydive which has been arranged by King's and takes place on Saturday, 11th June at Headcorn in Kent. Despite having a fear of both flying and heights, I am really looking forward to it - NOT!
Please help The Frost's raise as much money as we can for this fantastic cause.
