Story

Update: On the 17th December Freddie was given the all clear of the C word. Perfect timing just before Christmas and his birthday on the 23rd.

My challenge has still been ongoing and finishes on Feb 1st - All donations welcome as I approach the final few days of the challenge!! :)

The reason I am doing a variation of physical endurance everyday for 6 months is to raise funds for my 8 year-old nephew who on the 1st June was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma, which is a form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. This is something that has broke all of our hearts and I am extremely proud to be doing this for Freddie after a long time thinking about what would be most appropriate - So sun, rain or snow I will be putting the effort in to give children like Freddie the opportunity to experience something that may only happen once.

Something that breaks my heart the most is visiting the Children's Cancer Ward in which Freddie is receiving his treatment and seeing other children/parents/family members in a similar position and I would love to be able to provide them with an opportunity like the one I am trying to provide Freddie with.

Other incredible efforts have been made to raise money for charities that contribute to aiding Freddie and other children - Including over £2500 by Suzie, Freddie's aunt who ran a double marathon on the 8th June for Bloodwise & Freddie's classmates who produced #ASongForFreddie raising over £800, and I want to do something similar by raising money for a great charity 'When I Wish Upon A Star'.

Freddie is the brightest, bravest, most intelligent little man that I know and I plan to do all I can to raise as much money as possible for an incredible charity which offers families once in a lifetime opportunities. Freddie would love to go to Orlando once his treatment is complete and whatever funds can be raised will go a long way to making that become a reality.

During my challenge I will also be shaving my head for Freddie, so that during his time receiving treatment he is not alone in being hairless.

I hope you are all with me in wishing Freddie a full recovery and granting him his wish once his treatment is complete.

Thank you.
