Story

Thanks for visiting the Funky Pumpers fundraising page.

In September 2008 the Dawe family's lives changed overnight when 13 month old Dylan fell seriously ill with DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis).  He was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and at the age of 17 months was placed on an insulin pump.  Life has been challenging over the last four years - there is no doubt that our type 1 children are truly inspirational - putting up with daily finger prick testing, injections or pump cannula changes, carb counting everything they eat and drink and dealing with both low and high blood glucose and the dangers these can bring.

On Sunday 7th October 2012 The Funky Pumpers team including Dylan will be taking part in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes in Victoria Park, Hackney.

Please support us by sponsoring us to raise funds for JDRF, the only charity dedicated to finding a cure for TYPE 1 diabetes.

Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 28%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you - Hope is in a cure,

Sabrina and the Funky Pumpers team xxxx
