Story
When am I going to do it?
I have decided to shave my head on the 7th July 2016.
Why have I chosen this charity?
I have chosen this charity because in March of this year I suffered from meningitis and during my time in hospital my family was in contact with them, and told me they were very helpful. I am also talking to them now about what happened and they are very understanding, it is nice to talk to someone who understands exactly what I went through.
Why specifically am I shaving my head?
I have decided to do this for a few reasons. One reason is that quite frankly, I cannot take part in a classic fundraising event like running a marathon or swimming across the English Channel. This is because I am still suffering from the long term effects of this thing (and I hate it). I am not in the physical shape I would need to be to do these events, and so as a result I have chosen to shave my head. A second reason is a change in perspective: although I used to worry about it, I've realised that there are more important things to think about. I want to raise money and make an impact. There are people who have had this brain illness who have lost limbs. I have been incredibly lucky. I'm raising for the ones who haven't been as lucky.
What is my target?
I don't actually have a target to raise, ideally I would like to raise as much as possible - feel free to donate as much or as little as you would like to, as it all makes an impact. Raising money is great, but honestly my actual target is to raise awareness.
Cheers for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
