The St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation is the charitable arm of the St. James’s Place Wealth Management Group. The Foundation supports hundreds of carefully selected projects in the UK and abroad to make a positive and lasting difference to people's lives.

Story

In April 2012, over 27 trekkers and a small climbing team will fly to Kathmandu in Nepal to trek to Everest base camp. The gruelling trek over 120 miles will take the team to heights of 18,500 feet, through some of the most stunning scenery in the world.

All my life I have wanted to go Everest Base Camp, my plan was to do this later in life when my children had grown up, but when St. James's Place wanted to put a team together to raise a significant amount of money for the St. James's Place Foundation to make a real difference to the lives of others, I knew I had to do it now.

I have cycled the Nile in Egypt for charity before and have seen the difference first hand on what charitable money can do for others less fortunate than myself, but I know the trek to base camp will be tougher than anything else I have done before in my life, knowing what we are aiming to do and the phenomenal amount of money that we are hoping to raise for charities will keep me going all the way.
