No mean feat , but the squad are used to challenges and intend to take this one on just in the same positive and determined manner that they face other obstacles in their way. Simon and his fellow team mates are all blind or visually impaired and play in the GB Goalball squad . They fervently hope to represent their country in the 2012 Paralympics

Goalball is a strategic, fast and fierce game played at the elite level by blind and visually impaired players. They all wear shades and use their sense of touch and sound to shoot and defend a heavy ball with bells on a volley ball size court. It is an extraordinary and exciting game to watch but alongside many other sport disciplines funding is tight. So rather than moan about this Simon has urged the others to ‘get on your bike’

The squad and staff will be taking on this challenge in Sainsburys Superstore Calcot RG31 7SA They will be starting their marathon ride on Friday 20th May at 8.00am and hoping to finish on Saturday 21st May 8pm.
