GGC heads to Tanzania in support of Bridge2Aid · 25 September 2012

There is a desperate need to tackle oral disease, infection and chronic pain throughout the developing world - to enable people to work, attend school and care for families. We teach skills that mean local people are able to function free from pain, and avoid preventable infections and diseases.

Story

This October, GG Communications (GGC) is heading to Mwanza, Tanzania, to help raise awareness of Bridge2Aid’s (B2A) work and support plans to expand into Rwanda.

GGC’s Managing Director, Gemma Godman, will follow the Dental Volunteer Programme (DVP), reporting on their work as they train local healthcare personnel on how to administer pain relief and extract teeth causing discomfort. Gemma’s commentary will show the lasting difference these volunteers make in eliminating dental pain in the targeted communities.

To roll the programme into Rwanda, B2A needs to raise £5,000 and GGC is dedicated to working in partnership with friends and colleagues to achieve just that.

Speaking about the trip, Gemma commented: ‘As a company we are proud to be part of the B2A family and work hard to support the charity. The fact that there are millions living their lives with no relief from toothache and, if not treated, this pain can lead to further infections, complications and even death is what motivates us week after week.

‘The work of Bridge2Aid is changing lives and if we can help raise awareness of that then we will do all we can. We ask all colleagues, our friends and family to help – every penny will make a difference.’
