Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have chosen to support the charity PCD for my race event, who have been a real support to my sister-in-law Lucinda and Vik, since Leo was born with this condition. It is a very rare condition which affects 1 in 62000, meaning little is known of the disease and only three specialist hospitals with PCD clinics are in the UK.

Leo is 3 years old and is such a joyful and happy boy considering all the challenges to his health during his few years.

Born with pneumonia and in special care for the first two weeks of his life, Leo was diagnosed with a condition called Situs Invertus along with PCD. Leo has to go into hospital regularly for intense physiotherapy and intravenous antibiotics and must take antibiotics on a daily basis to keep him well. This means that everyday coughs and colds that 'normal' children cope with, make him very sick.

His latest admission to the Royal Brompton Hospital led to another diagnosis of having Pseudonomas, a condition that means his parents have to be extra vigilant with his care to prevent lung damage.

Leo has a strict daily care regime, including physiotherapy, use of a nebuliser to treat infection and to help remove the mucus from the bottom of his lungs. He also spends much time trampolining to aid this.

Leo is a very active and happy little boy, despite his condition, who loves to play and spend time with his many cousins. His favourite things are trucks, cars and, when he comes to our house, the first thing he wants to do is see where Henry Hoover lives!
