Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running my first Marathon on April 29th in Milton Keynes. I have done many half marathons but 26.2 miles is a real challenge. Hoping to complete in less than 4:30:00 hours.

When I was thinking of who to support while running I felt that many of the big charities (BHF, cancer etc) have a large number of supporters and always raise large amounts. However there are a few charities that get little support.

OCD UK is a charity that has supported both my wife and I over the last few years. My wife was diagnosed with OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) about 18 months ago and since then has worked hard to gain control over OCD.

Most people think OCD is about cleaning and washing constantly but that is not the case. It affects every part of your life and makes it difficult to feel in control. I am so proud of my wife as it has been such a hard struggle to live with OCD.

OCD UK helps children and adults to overcome OCD and learn to live with the condition. Their support and online help / forums have been a constant help to my wife.

It may not be as well known as many other charities but still provides a valuable service. I hope that you are able to support OCD UK as I do.

Thanks for you time and generosity.

Gordon

.................

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
