On Friday 5th August 4 people will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for longest doubles darts match.
The record is currently 32 hours and 4 minutes and was set in May 2010.
Phil Marshall, David Groom, Matthew Plumb and James Everitt will be attempting to break that record and set it at 34 hours continuously playing.
...
The attempt will be held at Riley's Pool and Snooker venue in Ipswich and will begin @ 1200 hrs Friday 5th August and hopefully end 2200 hrs Saturday 6th August (during which Rileys will be open throughout the whole event)
The charities we are hoping to raise money for are Mencap, Ipswich YMCA and St. Elizabeth Hospice which we hope you'll agree are very worthwhile causes.
A similar event that the participants competed in 5 years ago raised £2800 for charities and we would be hoping to raise a similar amount.
We are hoping to have various events throughout the attempt (such as a live band, Ipswich Calender Girls, etc ) but the details and sponsorship details will be confirmed closer to the event.
If you believe you may be able to help during the event or even donate a sum of cash towards the attempt please donate now or get in contact with one of us.
We hope you'll be happy to come along and even if you do not know them personally we hope you'll come down, support the lads during the attempt and be happy to sponsor them to raise as much money as possible.
