100 miles a month through 2016 and Park Run Tour · 2 January 2016

Nerve Tumours UK provides support and information, as well as campaigns and raises awareness on behalf of over 26,500 people in the UK who have NF, the group name for Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1), NF2-related-Schwannomatosis (NF2) and Schwannomatosis (SWN).

Story

Neurofibromatosis is the name for a number of genetic conditions that cause tumours to grow along your nerves. There are two main types of neurofibromatosis, NF1 and NF2. There is currently no cure for these genetic conditions.

My two dear friends, James and Bec, have a wonderful 8 year old daughter called Violet. Violet has Neurofibromatosis (NF). This incurable genetic condition affects more than 25,000 children and adults in the UK.

Last year I took part in lots of different running events to raise money for the Neuro Foundation. The Neuro Foundation is a charity dedicated to
improving the lives of those with NF1 and NF2.

This year I have decided to set the bar higher and run 100 miles per month throughout 2016. I will aim to run at least 5 kilometers per day. I am also going to try and couple this challenge with a tour of as many park runs as I can around the country every Saturday morning. I have set up a blog to report my progress for the year.
