Clipper Round the World Race · 31 December 2020 ·
I'm proud to be part of the team that will be sailing the UNICEF yacht, competing against 10 other matched teams for the ultimate prize of winning the Clipper Round the World Race. Along the way, as ambassadors for the race's chosen charity, we hope to raise more for UNICEF than any other boat. My leg is from Uruguay to S.Africa, with 3 to 4 weeks of continuous racing, maximum 4 hrs sleep every night on a watch system, and no shower (bring on the baby wipes). I'm busy putting my 60 yr old heart and soul into training for this event, whilst losing my sense of smell for body odour, and would be grateful for any donation you can spare for this cause. UNICEF is amazing - the world's leading charity for children in danger, helping to ensure that every child has the same chance to grow into adulthood (with all its joys and risks- like ocean racing), for example stopping unnecessary deaths from dirty drinking water, undernutrition and lack of vaccinations.
