Doing it for the kids…
Having lived in Newcastle for almost 15 years now I’ve decided it’s about time I tried the Great North Run. So on 15 September I will be running / jogging / hobbling the 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields in the hope of not being overtaken by too many 90 year olds, pantomime horses and people carrying a fridge on their back!
More importantly, I will be running to help raise money for the excellent The Children’s Foundation.
The Children’s Foundation is based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle and they fund research to help cure sick children, prevent illnesses and also investigate lifestyle issues in the hope of leading to better long-term outcomes.
They also support NHS projects including the Great North Children’s Hospital with a campaign to include the latest technology in the wards and to make the time spent in hospital as comfortable and stress-free as possible for children and their families.
I encourage you to have a look at their website at www.thechildrensfoundation.co.uk
I would really appreciate your sponsorship to help this excellent charity - and please don’t forget to add the Gift Aid tax relief boost if you can (it’s good financial planning!).
Thank you!
Gareth
