Thanks for taking the time to visit Gareth Knight and Andrew McEwen's JustGiving page.

Last year’s London Marathon and the run on Walk the Wight raised over £300 for the local hospice.

This year I am teamed up with Andrew and inspired by a charity close to our hearts and by a much bigger challenge as well.

We will be raising money for the Huntington's Disease Association. The London Marathon this year is a training exercise for both of us and the main event our walk.

In July I will with Andrew McEwen be taking on the Pyrenees.  We shall be following the French GR10 route from the Atlantic coast to the Mediterranean.  We intend diverting from the GR10 for a short portion of the Haute Route following the higher trails only where there is no ice as we will be traveling with minimal equipment (very light). We also would like to divert to the Spanish side of the border to walk through the Ordesa Gorge towards the end of our crossing. We have 35 days for a route that would normally take 50. The total distance is 535 miles with a height gain of 48,500m or to put it another way four and a half times the height of Everest.

You can follow our progress on the walk by looking on twitter please search with from:garethknight01 althought this is intended mostly as a way of letting people know how the walk is going we will also let you know how the Marathon went and give the odd update as we get ready to go.

The charity Andrew and I are both asking you to contribute to provides support to the families and for the sufferers of Huntington’s disease a condition that a friend and fellow runner of ours is currently suffering from.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Andrew and Gareth would like to thank you for visiting our page and helping.
