In April 2015, Elsa passed away at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice due to Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 1. Aged just 9 months old, she spent only a long weekend at the hospice but those 4 days, together with the impact the people work there had on her family, has meant that we are all dedicated to raising much needed funds and awareness of the hospice.
Taking part will be:
The Mayor family, the Tipper family, the Sedgwick family, the Hough family, Karen, Tom and Tess Harrison, Sarah Mills, Cath Slack and Cath Jay.
Did you know that it takes over £4m a year to run the hospice and that the government only gives 10% of that amount. This means that over £3.6m is needed to be raised every year just to keep the doors open.
The hospice is not just about a place to die either. Many of the children have complex and life limiting illnesses but some still live long enough to move on from the hospice and into adult care. Bluebell Wood provides respite care, as well as activities and entertainment to ensure that the quality of life is exceptional.
Please help us to raise a little more money in Elsa's name.
