Story
If you would like to show your support, please consider buying me a virtual drink. The funds will go to ICYE, who arranged my voluntary placement. They work to promote intercultural exchange through international volunteering across the world.
£4 buys me a virtual pint, or donate the price of your favourite drink.
Of course, none of these will actually get me drunk, but I'll be intoxicated with gratitude that you have shown your support for me.
More Information:
I recently completed my social work degree after two years of full-time study alongside part-time work. Although I have been busier than ever before, I feel that there is so much more I want to learn before I embark on a social work career in London.
I have never lived abroad before, and all my social work experience is in London, so I think that this is a great opportunity for me to experience a new culture, put my skills to good use in another country, and learn new perspectives that will make me a better social worker.
I plan to write about my experiences on my blog at http://britishgaz.wordpress.com and you are welcome to have a look. This is not a travel blog, it contains my thoughts and reflections on living and volunteering in Uganda.
