Thanks for visiting my page.

This event is the final part of a challenge I set myself this year, the challenge was to complete three 100 mile cycle events over a 3 month period.  I completed the first and second challenges in May & June this year. The Suffolk Sunrise challenge was completed in May and the second was the Norwich 100 which was taking place on the 6th June.  The first 2 challenges were associated with charities and the final challenge that I have signed up for is the London 2 Bournemouth ride, which was taking place on the 11th July, which is also the same day as the World Cup final.  I was hoping for a double celebration of completing a gruelling 118 mile ride and then being able to watch England lift the World Cup!  However, the organisers have now changed the date to the 12th September, which means that we now have longer to try and raise as much money as we can.

The 118 mile road course starts in Wimbledon, south-west London and finishes near the seafront in Bournemouth.  Taking you on undulating roads through the North Downs, and over the South Downs, which means plenty of hills and climbs to be done! The last 35 miles, will take in more of the New Forest, cutting across towards Ringwood and down to Christchurch.

More information on the ride can be found by following the link below:

My friend Ray has agreed to join me for this event and he has also convinced his friend Shay that it would be a good idea for him to join us also.

As the final event is not linked to any charity we have decided to take this opportunity to try and raise money for The White Lodge Centre, which runs a facility for disabled children, young people and adults. The charity provides tremendous support to families and carers across Surrey and the surrounding area.

Having visited there recently, I have seen what a difference this centre makes to the lives of people with disabilities – and to those they depend on for care. Please help me make as much money as possible for this wonderful cause. Every penny that we raise for The White Lodge is greatly appreciated not just by the charity, but also by all the people that rely on the service and support that they provide.  So when you hear that people say that every penny counts it does in this instance as it allows them to continue supporting people with disabilities and their families.  More details on the White Lodge Centre can be found by following the link below:
