Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

Imagine waking up and not recognising your own child, not remembering your family or friends, and having to re-learn everything in life. Headway Essex cares for people who have acquired a brain injury through sporting or work accidents, road traffic accidents, assault, illness, or disease.

Story

I will be running the London Marathon for Headway Essex a charity who provide help and support for those who have suffered brain injury and their families.

This is very close to me because my sister Kim suffered a serious head injury when she was knocked off her bike nearly 40 years ago. Ever since she has been cared for by my Mother. Kim is able to attend a local Headway unit twice a week. This provides not only respite for the carer but an opportunity for Kim to enhance life skills.
