<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p>Hi there, I am running the Connemara Marathon in 2012 and I have decided to raise funds for Autism NI, as our 4 year old son "Orry George" is Autistic. I feel it is important to promote awareness of this condition and&nbsp;to assist the charity continue with it's good work - helping those people who are touched by Autism.</p> <p>For many people, Autism is just a word, and until you experience it for yourself, it is very difficult to explain.....</p> <p>Basically, it is a lifelong disability which affects the social and communication centre of the brain. Autism affects the way an individual relates to people, situations and the immediate environment. The Connemara Marathon is a tough event and I am running it with 2 friends from the Sperrin Harriers - Darren Crozier and Martin McGirr.
