Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you know Robert and Avril Readie lost their precious baby son to Fanconi. Last year we held a series of events and raised nearly £8000 between Yorkhill and Fanconi.

This year we have just completed the 3 peak challenge in a little over 24 hrs to raise as much as we can for this worthwhile cause.Ben Nevis, Scaffel Pike and Snowdon were all tamed and we learned a lot about ourselves on the trip. Sheep, sea monsters and personal grooming aside, we had a great time and raised a lot of money for a fantastic cause. We are having another race night in November (details to follow) and this page will be open till November the 1st so tell you mates!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Fanconi Hope is a registered national charitable trust set up by parents of Fanconi Anaemia (FA) affected children and clinicians with an interest in FA:-

  • To support a UK Fanconi Anaemia National Registry so as to ensure Fanconi Anaemia affected children and their families are kept track of and provided with the best care.
  • To promote awareness and understanding of Fanconi Anaemia among affected families, the medical profession, and the general public.
  • To encourage translational research which may directly benefit Fanconi Anaemia affected children and their families.
  • To encourage research in the area of Fanconi Anaemia that may have benefit for the general public, e.g., in the treatment of cancers in general.

      Please dig deep.

      Cheers,  Team Leighton.
