Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Don't be fooled by the relaxed state of my body in the photo!
Beneath the yellow blob is a finely tuned athelete that'll help push (literally) a bicycle 100km from London to Brighton on the 20th Sept. There'll be none of this namby pamby daytime cycling either, the event starts at 10pm and finishes sometime in the wee hours the following day.
The number 100 is an important number as it goes, I would be over the moon if you were to help me get to my initial target of securing £100 in donations, this being the amount I need to raise by 9th August (the day before my 51st birthday) to qualify for entry into the event. I then need to hit the £200 mark before the event begins. Anything above that will be a massive bonus!
I'm doing this one with my son, Jamie, 30ish years my junior. No way will this be a gentle saunter to visit pubs enroute to the finish line, we definitely want to do the charity proud and get to Brighton before sun's up. Jamie will no doubt be pushing me along and we've agreed the pubs can wait for us on the return journey :)
We'll be joining a friend Debbie, who, and I hope she doesn't mind me mentioning, has been on the wrong end of the big C. Deb is a fighter. Her battle with cancer has been a great inspiration to Jamie and I, we both want to do her proud too, raising as much for Breakthrough Breast Cancer as we can.
That's it for now, I'll keep this page updated with photo's, videos and a few words to keep you updated on the effort I'll put in to ensure your donation is earned not simply given.
Please please please, do donate, it'd be very much appreciated by Jamie and I and will give benefit to so many sufferers of this terrible disease.
