Story
Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page.
I am planning to run 52 miles on the Malvern Hills Ultra in support of Chernobyl Children's Life Line. They raise money to bring children from the area polluted by the Chernobyl reactors radioactive dust, over to the UK for a one month break. The Smith family are hoping to be hosts to two children this year. This costs the charity roughly £400 per child. As a result I am keen to raise enough in donations to cover the charities expenses.
The run itself covers 52 miles off road, with over 8,200 feet of elevation gain (a bit like running up and down Snowdon 3 times). I will need to navigate my own way and more than likely run for 10-12 hours (some of which will likely be in the dark). The race will start on the morning of 4th May 2013. http://www.ultrarunningltd.co.uk/malvern-hills-ultra.html
Before this race the longest race I had entered was a half marathon and following this stated I would never run that far again. However, I am prepared to break this vow to raise some funds for this charity.
I am very grateful for any support or sponsorship you can afford to give in helping me achieve this target for a very deserving charity.
Cheers - Gary
