"TO BEARD OR NOT TO BEARD"
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Most of you will know that in July 2008 my dad Joe died from prostate cancer. This is the reason for my fundraising. It was a terrible time for all the family and more research is needed to help more men recieve treatment. This cancer is the most common form of cancer in men in the UK. 35,000 men are diagnosed each year and sadly one man dies every hour. The Prostate Cancer Charity helps with information and education for men of all ages.
Some people asked why I am growing a beard and not climbing mountains or cycling miles. Although this is a serious dicease I felt a light hearted and unusual approach to fund raising would have a better response.
Those that know me well will know I like to look my best on most occasions.Growing this beard for 40 weeks will drive me mad but I am determined to do it and look forward to comments on how it looks.Having never grown a beard before, longest time unshaven is a week, I have no idea how it will look.A part of me is very concerned, but the charity will benefit greatly and continue its good work.
So please dig deep and donate now.
