Adidas Dublin Marathon 2009 · 26 October 2009 ·

The Multiple System Atrophy Trust is the UK and Ireland's only charity dedicated to providing specialist support to all those affected by multiple system atrophy (MSA); a life-limiting neurodegenerative condition. We rely entirely on voluntary donations to provide our free support services.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the Adidas Dublin Marathon in just 2 weeks time on Monday the 26th of October.

So far this year I have run my first 10K race and then my first half marathon in quick succession. I want to do the full marathon for a couple of reasons, firstly that is is so far removed from what I would have considered doing at the start of this year.

I am also raising money for the Sarah Matheson Trust who provide info and support and fund reasearch into Multiple system Atrophy.

By the time the marathon comes round I will have run over 280 miles on my training plan and more than a half marathon on 8 consecutive Saturday's, so it will be a minor miracle if I make it through to race day at all.

So your donations will make a real difference, not only to my motivation but also to the many people who will benefit in some way from your support for my chosen charity.

Much love and sweat,

Gav :)

OCT Update: Things are going reasonably well although my knees are sore, 20miles completed on Sun but hope to run better on race day. Still at the level where it could go really well or end up as a walking disaster.
