Story

"Unfortuantely, I had to bail-out of the marathon at the half-way mark. The medic at the St John's Ambulance who took care of me said I was mad to have tried the run so soon after sustaining my injuries. Apologies for letting you all down. May be next year I will give it another go; this time without any injuries! Once again Thank You for all your support." GG (27th April)

"You may have heard that I fractured my clavicle and several ribs skiing on the 5th April. As I am still in a lot of pain, I will probably have to walk rather than run the marathon on Sunday; I hope that is okay with you." GG (15th April 2011)

In a “world of uncertainty” you should not take anything for granted; particularly your health. Can you imagine what it must be like to live with MS? Your life would be turned upside down; … will you be able to continue working? … would you need a walking stick? .. a wheelchair? … what will happen to your ability to communicate? … your memory? … your personality? … continence? … sexual function? ... mood? … would your partner have to give up work to look after you? ...?

The MS Trust is a charity that tries to bring “certainty” to the lives of people living with MS; unsung heroes in the battle against this terrible disease. Without the MS Trust's help I would find it very hard to care for people with MS. The MS Trust needs your support to continue their work. PLEASE DONATE!

I am privileged to be in full health and being able to take on the challenge of running the London marathon; if I had MS I would almost certainly be a spectator. What are you doing on the 17th April?
