We provide support to those with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. My Name is Tom and I am 10 years old.

I  have a condition  called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. Everyone has mast cells,  normally they spring into action when people are exposed to things like viruses and allergens  but mine misbehave, and constantly produce chemicals causing me to  have allergic  reactions, some of which have been life threatening.

Some of my triggers include, chemicals, medicines, temperature, exercise, viruses, environmental triggers, my own emotions, foods ( my diet is very limited, I have multiple anaphylactic food allergies) friction.

It affects every part of my body, I get severe asthma/ respiratory symptoms. Gastrointestinal symptoms. Problems controlling my heart rate. Skin issues like flushing, and hives. Problems controlling my body temperature, and blood pressure. And anaphylaxis, which is life threatening. I am  hyper mobile  which causes my joints to pop out of place, they are also very painful.

I have to take 7 different medications five times a day, plus have 4 injection every 2 weeks to keep me well.

I am going to try  And bounce 2000 times on my trampoline, whilst I am at home shielding  to try and raise money for the charity that has helped me.

Thank you so much.

Tom
