Virgin London Marathon 2011 · 17 April 2011 ·

Local GP Dr. Martin Lawrence's dying wish was that patients in his practice should be able to die at home; his work was made reality through the work of District Nurse Jane Phillips MBE. The service has grown and now provides free hospice at home care covering five GP practices in Oxfordshire.

Story

Hi Everyone!

This year I will be attempting the London Marathon and I am on the scrounge from you lovely lot to help me raise money for a very worthy cause.

I have chosen to run for the charity 'Lawrence Home Nursing' - a charity that is very close to my heart.

For those of you who don't know, 'Lawrence Home Nursing' is an Oxfordshire based charity that provide skilled care and support to the terminally ill who wish to remain at home.

They are a group of the most wonderful, kind and caring people who became a fundamental part of our family during the last few weeks of my brother David's life.

It would be very very much appreciated if you could sponsor me and help to raise loads of money!

Also, if you happen to be in the London area on the 17th April, please come and cheer me on ... or watch me suffer!

Thank you so very much

Gem x
