Story
I have chosen to support Macmillan as it will soon be a very personal charity to me and my family. On 18th September 2012 my family received some horrific news. I was on the way home from an art trip when my mum called to say Jason, my sister's partner, has a brain tumour. Earlier in the month and infact the night before Jason had been rushed into hospital after having had a seizure. On October 5th Jason had an operation to see if the tumour was cancerous. Before the operation Jason was in a very bad way; his speech was slurred and due to the medication he didn't really understand what he was saying - and to top it off he had very bad short term memory loss.
After the operation things were looking promising, Jason's speech had improved and his memory was getting much better. All we had to do now was wait for the all clear. Unfortunately we never heard those words.Jason has an aggressive brain tumour that isn't curable.
As you can probably tell just from this my life is very hectic and to me and my family there is no such thing as 'normality'. Macmillan can help with this. Macmillan work with the cancer patient and his/her family to provide practical, medical and financial support and they push for better cancer care.
I hope you will support me in my quest to raise this money to help Macmillan, who will be helping Jason. By the way Jason was born in 1988...the amount I hope to raise.
Thank you!
