Story
never really considered running the marathon until this year, I remember being at the gym and watching it and thinking, I’d love to be able to accomplish that within my life time, but never realised that this wish would come true so soon. My only experience at running had been the Birmingham half marathon in October 2009 and a few 10k races, but nothing on this scale. My motivation to run initially was to raise money and awareness for cancer after my nan was diagnosed with it. Since then, I’ve come to enjoy running, it has to be said if I had the choice I’d be running round Central Park again rather that the streets of my home, but its all training at the end of the day.
I do enjoy running but I’d be lying if I said that I was looking forward to the endless training and the aches and pains that I know are coming my way, but I know that it is for an exceptional cause and that will be my constant motivation when the going gets tough during the 26.2 miles.
More about the charity that I'm running for -
We are Making a Difference!
We are making a difference Charity raises funds and distributes regardless of race, colour, creed or age. The Birmingham based charity, part of the well known and respected Gentlemen's Night Out Charity, is totally unique.
There are no offices, overheads or expenses of any kind – thus every penny raised goes directly to individuals and organisations where we can make a difference.
