Last year Genesis Associates pledged our support to Bliss and we were successful in raising £10,050.17. This year we have pledged our support to The Christie and will be aiming to raise another £10,000 from March 2011 - March 2012.

The Christie charity raises money to fund projects at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, which are outside the scope of the NHS. The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 40,000 patients a year. Based in Manchester it serves a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist around 15% of patients are referred from other parts of the country. It provides radiotherapy through one of the largest radiotherapy departments in the world; chemotherapy on site and through 14 other hospitals; highly specialist surgery for complex and rare cancer; and a wide range of support and diagnostic services.

The Christie is also an international leader in research, with world first breakthroughs for over 100 years. They run one of the largest early clinical trial units in Europe with over 300 trials every year. Cancer research in Manchester, most of which is undertaken on The Christie site, has been officially ranked the best in the UK. This year we will be organising and hosting a range of events including a Corporate Summer Football Tournament, Family Fun Day, various raffles including signed Man United Shirts, Ipad2, luxury watches as well as the usual marathons, 10k runs and other feats of physical endurance!!
