Story
When my friend, Kirsten passed me this opportunity, my bucket list was twinkling infront of me ... *SKY DIVE.* Turning 30 has inspired me to do a lot of things that scare me ... like learning to ski and starting a business. So not wanting to miss an opportunity or let her down, I said yes.
On the day of the sky dive, it will be year since I was in Dubai, determined to do a sky dive but wishing I had others to share in the experience. Now, thanks to the organisers, Beatson Cancer Charity, I have 19 other women connected in and around Glasgow making the memory with me.
I’ve only ever raised money for charity twice before, when I did the Midnight Walk with friends for the Ayrshire Hospice and Tough Mudder with colleagues for CHAS - Children’s Hospices Across Scotland. £500 being the most I’ve ever raised, this £5000 target is a first of its kind.
When I jump out of the plane, I’m going to be brave, knowing how even more brave, the people fighting cancer and visiting the Beatson have to be everyday. I’m going to think of two very special friends/mentors/inspirations in my life who have shown such courage to live such a beautiful life beyond cancer. I’ll also be thinking of friends who have lost loved ones. I’ll be remembering how lucky I am to be alive and the choices I am able to make so freely about my life.
Your donation can be as little as £1. Knowing that you support me, will give me all the strength I need to jump out of that plane on Saturday 12th October.
