My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Come May, I'll be joining Joss Stone and other great musicians to play and photograph the world's highest gig at 6,476 meters, just a Stone's throw from Mt Everest. It's a lot to ask, but I'd be over the moon if you could help me raise £4000 for the non-profit organisation that's arranging the event. They're called Music4Children, and they put together zany fundraising events in aid of improving the lives of underprivileged kids in Nepal.
_________________THE PROBLEM_____________________
Nepal has an estimated one and a half million child labourers — a result of the civil war that ended six years ago. Many of these children were abandoned because their parents could no longer support them financially. What's more, they can't even apply for citizenship, they're denied free education, and they suffer from food deprivation.
_________________THE SOLUTION_____________________
Music4Children raised enough money to buy some land and begin building an orphanage near a school in 2005. The charity now needs extra funds to:
1) complete the interior of the orphanage,
2) support community programmes for the next two years, and…
3) in the long term, develop the orphanage so it's completely self-sustained, community-run, uses locally sourced materials, and harnesses renewable energies.

As an extra incentive, I'm throwing in a few perks! As an aspiring photographer, I realise that pictures are probably the best thing I can offer in return… apart from a big 'thank you'. I'd hugely appreciate anything you can donate for this very worthwhile cause:
* £15 (or more) enters you in a raffle, three winners of which will receive a high-quality print of the event
* £30 gets your name written on my guitar, which I will clearly photograph during the event with an Everest backdrop, then I either tag you on Facebook or email you the picture.
* £60 for the same as above, but with a 5"x5" image of your choice, as well as your name
* £100 will get your name on a brick in the orphanage
* The three most generous sponsors will get A4-sized, high-quality prints of my best photos of the event.

Music4Children was formed to improve the lives of Nepalese orphans. We've nearly finished our first orphanage, in Dhulikhel, near Kathmandu, which will eventually educate and care for 56 children. We're raising £90,000 so we can look after the first 12 children for 3 years. www.music4children.org
