It is most likely that you know me as a sailor in some form or other, whether it be as a competitor in the international Laser class, as a director and team manager of the Christ Church Grammar School sailing program, as a coach or instructor, as an event manager and organiser, or quite simply as a person who has loved playing around in sailing boats from a very young age. Whilst I have over 55 years of involvement in sailing under my belt, I have never really felt like a complete sailor! To be deserving of that honour, I believe that I needed to conquer the great oceans of the world! The  2019/20 Clipper Round The World Yacht Race will provide me with the opportunity to do just that! 

My allocated boat is the big blue boat, UNICEF! The 2019/20 Clipper RTW organisation has set the goal to raise four hundred thousand Great Britain Pounds (GBP) for UNICEF. In order to do that, each of the eleven race boats has been challenged to raise 33,000 pounds for this wonderful charitable organisation. I believe that we on team UNICEF (all 64 of us) can raise 50,000 GBP. My personal goal is to raise 5000 GBP !
