Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I started this page having recently got in to the hobby of metal detecting and realising that gaining permission to detect on peoples land is not as easy as it sounds.

I'm not interested in this hobby for money, more the enjoyment of discovering history and preserving it for the future. Therefore any finds of significant historical value will be sent to a local finds liason officer to be recorded and passed to the British museum. They in turn will log and record the find and if they wish to keep it then they offer a sum of money to the finder and land owner. Other items may be sold at auction or through private sale. 

I have decided that it would be a great selling point in gaining permission and at the same time offer support to a worthwhile cause by donating the proceeds of these finds to the charity of my choice. (Cancer Research) and so this is the reason for starting this page.

Of course, all donations would also be very welcome and go towards an extremely worthwhile cause which I am sure has affected most people in some way or another.
