I am participating in a charity Ultimate White Collar Boxing event at Walsall College (The Hub), in Walsall on Saturday 18th March 2023. Today (23rd Jan), I begin on a relentless 8 weeks intense boxing training programme which will enable me to be in the best shape for my fight on the night. I have never boxed before in my life so this will be a sharp learning curve and no doubt a very touch challenge indeed!! I have always been a huge fan of the sport however due to always footballing and running i just never had the time to take it up, so at the ripe old age of 45 years I’ve now found the time to do a bit, and what more could I ask than to raise money for such a fantastic cause and in memory of a true gentleman that was, is and always will be Ross “Dickie” Emery, a very special man who is loved and missed by very many ❤️❤️❤️❤️xxxx

Sadly, Ross, one of my former Queen’s Royal Lancer brothers in arms was taken by this cruel, cruel disease on the 1st Feb.  Ross was an absolute diamond of a bloke, an original and true QRL B Sqn legend! He was someone you could always count on no matter what, a gentle soul with a mighty infectious smile that beamed from cheek to cheek 24/7!!! Even in the face of adversity Ross would always have that smile. What a warrior he most certainly was, an inspiration to us all ❤️ He was a legend who fought bravely and relentlessly against Cancer for over 5 years before it took his life…. I would therefore like to dedicate this fight to him!!! So this one’s for you Ross 💯🥊🥊🥊

The fighter with the most funds raised by 1500hrs on fight night (Sat 18th March) gets presented with a golden boxing glove. I am absolutely determined to be that person, not for my own personal gains but for Ross’ beautiful Wife Natalie, and their two beautiful children, son Kaelan and daughter Farrah. If successful, I would like to present this glove alongside our Regimental motto (cap badge) in a frame in honour of Ross’ memory. Something they can hold on to and look at knowing just how much we love and support them all in what can only be described as devastating and completely life changing times for them all. THEY NEED US AND I NEED YOU so please support my cause and let’s come together and make this work! “Vis Unita Fortior” (United Strength Is Stronger) 💪🏻🙏❤️x
