UPDATE:

Sarah Cottrell and I completed our challenge in Canterbury (having started from JusB's HQ and then taken a train to London Bridge!). We rode 101 miles in the day, beating the 75 mile challenge we had set ourselves. It wasn't easy but the trip through the Kent countryside was very rewarding as was the hot bath afterwards! We spent just over ten hours in the saddle with an average speed of 9.7 mph and a top speed of 27.3 mph.

I had the opportunity to be JusB's interim Chief Exec for six months from Nov 2009 until April 2010. I'd like to celebrate this by raising some money and what better way than another bike ride! This time I'm going with a friend and we're aiming for 75 miles - or more - along the south side of the Thames Estuary on June 12th, starting in central London and finishing somewhere in Kent!

JusB exists for young people in Bromley, helping them to make the most of their lives. The staff and volunteers are often meeting with those who need encouragement to find employment or to stay in education or training. A local Connexions worker has said that JusB helps those young people who won't go near the statutory services.

Raising £10 a mile for a day's cycling (which will be hard but enjoyable) would be a great way to help the organisation survive in today's tough economic climate.
