Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF DATE!
Due to an internship being offered to one of our team members, we have had to postpone our 3 Peaks Challenge to the middle of August.
We are raising money for charities we feel personal connections to; I am raising money for the House of Hope Project, Nepal, Burbs for Help the Heroes, Will for Cancer Research UK and Tom for Parkinson's UK.
I stayed at the House of Hope Project for two weeks in 2009 and it was an amazing experience. The project was started when its founder, Tori Lewis, met the Mukhia family, whilst teaching in Nepal. The family was literally taking homeless orphaned children into their home, off the streets of Kathmandu, where they lived in squalor. Their incredible generosity lead them to difficult times as they were caring for 22 children in their home with limited resources.
When Tori returned to the UK she decided to start fundraising for the project and, along with a board of trustees, ensured that the money raised was spent in the best possible way. In 2007 a new home was built for the Mukhia family and the ever-expanding number of children in their care.
The children are so very happy there, and I would love to continue to raise money for the cause to ensure its survival in the future and allow the Mukhia family to continue offering their selfless support.
Please have a look at the projects website for more information: http://www.hohnepal.co.uk/cms.php?page=Project
The 3 Peaks Challenge involves climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales, all in the space of 24 hours. What is more, we have decided to attempt the challenge without the help of any professional support, so will be doing the map reading, driving and general organisation ourselves.
Thank you very much for any donations you can offer.
