UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who has sponsored me. I had a bit of a bumpy ride on the way down due to high winds! You can see the full helmet camera footage on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qv7cnXP0Bb4

N.B. Due to high winds on May 2nd, the rescheduled date is now Sunday June 5th (at 9am, if you want to bring some eggs to throw at me).

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I remember when they built the Lift Tower. Shortly after it was finished, we had a school trip to the top. I was 6* at the time, and it left a lasting impression. I've always wanted to go back up, and now I've got the chance to do that - and come back down again in style!

I've never abseiled before, but hey, how hard can it be? I've fallen off loads of stuff in the past - it's going to be just the same but safe... right?

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. Cash goes to the Mines Advisory Group which gets rid of mines. I like blowing things up as much as the next man (OK, maybe a bit more than the next man), but blowing up people ain't right, so smash up your piggy bank and hand over the coins. Nice one, innit!

*I might have been 5 or 7. I could work it and and check the facts and dates and stuff, but what do you take me for, a journalist?
