Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.

Many of you know I have recently had a placement at 'The Christie' which specialises in Oncology. As you may be aware cancer affects 1 in 3 people. I thoroughly enjoyed this placement and found it rewarding in so many ways. The staff were all amazing but the patients even more so, with such Strength, Bravery and Determination to fight the disease it was an overwhelmingly inspirational experience.

Whilst being at Christie's I met many individuals who I shall remember throughout my career of being a nurse. One in particular will stick in my mind. At 37 and newly engaged Elise Roberts was diagnosed with Malignant Melanoma January 2010. Unfortunately, at stage 4, the cancer was too aggressive and had progessed too far for any curative treatment. With true fight and determination she battled through everyday with such strength and positivity despite feeling so poorly. Sadly Elise lost her fight and passed away 3/10/10. I feel honoured to have known such a beautiful and inspirational person.

However, we can still help! Since her diagnosis, Elise wanted to raise £1million for 'The Christie' and began her campaign. I hope to help her family and friends to reach this target by asking you to sponsor me to climb Mount Snowdon on November 20th 2010.

I appreciate there are so many charities and each individual has a different one close to their heart. This truly is something I am very passionate about and would be really grateful for any support you can provide.

THANKS!
