Chiltern 100 Cycling Festival 2018 · 15 July 2018 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In March 2018, we lost my uncle to complications from Lymphona. He was lucky to have received some highly experimental therapies as well as a stem cell transplant and other treatments which are now relatively routine, thanks to the huge medical advances which have been seen and which are only made possible with the funding and research into these illnesses over the last few years.

Sean was a very impressive cyclist and he encouraged me to sign up for the Chiltern100, a race he nearly won a few years ago before he failed to spot a turning and cycled an extra 50km by mistake....casual!

He also raised a huge amount of money for charities he believed in, often via sponsored cycling races through exotic lands.

As a family, we would like to match Sean's most recent astounding fundraising amount through various events over the next few months, in aid of Bloodwise, the blood cancer charity, to help fund more research into hopefully life saving cures.

I am doing the Medio Fondo 110km route at the Chiltern Cycling Festival which apparently boasts some “challenging climbs” in the middle of July. I would therefore hugely appreciate any sponsorship you can spare and I will do my best not to get lost, although I can't promise to be contesting the podium!

Thank you
