Story

Hi!

Thanks for taking the time to look at my page!

Did you know that 1 in 100 people are diagnosed with Epilepsy everyday? Did you know that Epilepsy can affect anyone, at any age, and at any walk of life?

In order to support this cause through the amazing charity - Epilepsy Society, and also to increase peoples awareness of epilepsy, I am participating in the Inca Trek. On the 6th August along with 37 other students I am travelling to Cusco in Peru where my 6 day trek will begin. All the money that I will fundraise is being donated to the Epilepsy Society, which is used for extensive research into the causes of epilepsy, discovering ways to control seizure's and giving support to individuals who suffer from Epilepsy.

During the fundraising process, I will be visiting the research centre for Epilepsy so I myself can learn more about the condition and the incentive behind all of my fundraising. The trek involves 6 days of hiking up different terrains, of increasing altitude and camping in different weather conditions on different parts of the mountain. Altitude sickness is common, and my fitness will definitely need to be improved before I conqure this trek, however I am excited to embrace this challenge, especially as it is going towards such an inspiring charity.

So, do your part for charity and please help me in reaching my target amount of £3000 and on behalf of all of you I will be able to complete my challenge of climbing 2,430 metres above sea level to the top of Machu Picchu!
