BRACE funds world-class clinical and laboratory research into dementia to find better treatments, achieve earlier diagnosis and, one day, a cure. Together we will defeat dementia.

Story

Rowing across an ocean isn't an everyday feat, and not something that most people would even consider doing. However, for my boyfriend Jay Olenicz, it was a challenge he just couldn't ignore! He and his friend, Ross Macleod, have decided to row 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean. Completing it will make them the youngest pair to have ever done so!! They have named their team the 'Oarsome Odyssey' and are doing it in aid of three very important charities, one of which is BRACE- Alzheimers Research.

Being vertically challenged means that rowing isn't something I excel at (!), however, I wanted to do something to raise as much money as possible whilst also pushing myself. Therefore, I have decided to run the Bath Half Marathon. It is the longest running event I have ever done so I am dutifully training alongside my medical studies at the University of Bristol. I am fundraising for BRACE- a charity which is very important to Jay as his grandparents suffer with Alzheimers, but which also supports an area of research which is constantly growing in importance.

Check out Jay and Ross's story so far and find out more about their charities by visiting their website: www.oarsomeodyssey.co.uk

Thank you so much for your support! Every little really does help so even if it isn't a lot, please donate to this really great cause!
