In August 2011 I and three intrepid friends will be scaling the world's tallest free standing mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. We will be completing the trek in aid of our preferred charities.
It's going to be an arduous 6 day trek at altitude, building up to an attempt on the summit standing at 19,340ft!!! According to our travel provider, 'trekking Kilimanjaro is a seriously tough undertaking, one that is commonly cited as being "more painful than childbirth" ... and that's from women who have done both!' I can't wait!
In order to gain the most benefit from the experience (and give me something else to focus on in my darker moments) I am raising money for Thames Valley Adventure Playground (TVAP) and would appreciate your generous support.
I volunteer weekly at the group's 'Fun Club' which provides social activities for adults with special needs. The members and team always have a fantastic time and your support will make a real difference to keep the facility running.
