Our mission is to improve patient care across Dewsbury, Pontefract and Wakefield either directly with patients or indirectly via staff. We do this by enhancing the services provided by the Trust and funding additional items of expenditure, which would not otherwise be funded by the NHS.

Story

Hello everyone,

Thanks everyone for your donations.Georgie's service is 1st November at Wakefield crematorium [Standbridge lane] at 10am.All welcome.  .

Obviously the last few days have been some of the most difficult we have ever had to face. It's not fair though if we were to only dwell on the tough times though as our lives have been enriched by meeting a little lady called Georgina who was by everyone's reckoning a beautiful baby!

Lou went in to hospital at around 4am on Saturday with chronic back pain but then gave birth to little Georgie at 14.03hrs after being in labour for 4hrs 49mins. The drugs helped her through the pain and gave her family much source of laughter during the difficult times, these are some of the key comments she made while high...

Directed at Pete (her brother):

"how will take your furniture around the world?"

Directed at Jan (her mother):

"where are the 101 dalmations?"

and

"I want to hear this baby make a noise... meow... i mean quack"

These comments did not make any more sense to us than they probably do to you but gave us a good laugh during the difficult times - thanks Lou!

The staff at Dewsbury's Mid Yorks Hospital were absolutely magnificent, attentive, professional, sympathetic, warm, always there when needed and made themselves scarce when not. The facilities were perfect and apart from stupid pay and display car parks and the only food available on the ward being toast we were all very well cared for.

Lou, Ant, Georgie and families would like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts, messages and egarness to help out.

A funeral/ cremation service will take place some time in the coming weeks, more information will be posted here when its available.

Lou & Ant kindly ask that family and friends who wish to send cards, flowers or presents please make a small donation via this site, this is their (Lou, Ant and Georgie) way of showing their appreciation and gratitude of the delivery suite staff.

All donations gratefully received with be spilt between the following 2 causes:

1) Improving kitchen equipment for staff

2) Facilitating the provisions of Memory Boxes for parents of babies born asleep

Thanks very much xxx

Lou & Ant welcome messages of all types (text, emails, facebook, etc) but politely ask for some time for themselves as a family to grieve.
