Story
As most people are aware, the four of us have recently enjoyed a fabulous six week holiday in the US, an experience which can only be described as self-indulgent in many respects. There were many reasons for the trip including three significant birthdays....but enough about them!
We have been moved by Martha, the primary school-child who has raised over £100,000 with her blog on school lunches for a charity that provides a wonderful service in many countries around the world - Mary's Meals.
Consequently and recognising that it has been some time since we had any form of party at home..... we would like to extend an open invitation for you to come and join us on Sunday 4 November from 3pm for afternoon tea - a casual and probably chaotic event.
And in doing so, and recognising that some of you might come bearing gifts, we would like to invite you to make a donation to Mary's Meals in lieu of anything else and have set up a justgiving page for anyone that wants to make a donation - https://www.justgiving.com/Geraghtys - we will match donations up to £250 and we are hoping that we may be able to attract some matched employer funding as well. There is of course no obligation to make any donation.
If you would like to see more about what the charity do, please have a look at their website http://www.marysmeals.org.uk/ In addition, 4 November marks the release of a film "Child 31" about their work.
We would simply love to see you and hope that you can join us during the afternoon.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Love from Brian, Sarah, Christina and Lucy
Please RSVP so we know how much champagne to chill!
