Gerry's' 120k+ Challenge · 29 January 2017

St Catherine’s cares for patients and families who are affected by life-shortening conditions, at the hospice and in people’s own homes across Chorley, Preston and South Ribble. Our specialist care helps people enjoy the best possible quality of life to the end of life.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Over a 3 month period, from Oct 2016 to early January 2017, I have lost two members of my extended family through cancer.

During the final months, days and hours of their lives, the staff at St Catherine's Hospice near Preston provided varying levels of care to both of those much loved people to ensure that all of their needs were met ensuring maximum comfort at all times.

The staff at St Catherine's not only care for their patients, but also provide excellent support services and facilities for family members whilst visiting the Hospice.

The least that I feel I can do is to try and raise some money for St Catherine's Hospice through my fitness activities in 2017, so that they can continue to invest in their facilities for other patients and families to experience the levels of care and support that our family did.

My aim is to take part in 12 running events throughout 2017 which will be a minimum of 10km distance (Starting with the "Hunters" 10k in Lostock Hall on 29th January 2017)........hence the name "Gerry's 120k+ Challenge".

I am not setting a high target for my fundraising. I will contribute £10 for every event that I participate in, so will achieve my target of £120 through my own donations.  If you feel that you would like to help support me through this challenge, then please feel free to donate as much or as little as you like. I know that St Catherine's Hospice will appreciate every penny. Please do not feel obligated to donate at all, as I will appreciate your support throughout the year as I pound the pavements and roads of Chorley and the surrounding areas.

Thanks

Gerry
