Jim Farey is raising money for The Royal British Legion
In memory of Gerald "Gerry" George Farey
The RBL are the UK's leading charity providing financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the British Armed Forces and their dependents.

Story

This page is to raise money for the Royal British Legion in memory of my Dad, Gerald George Farey - Gerry.

Born 22 August 1932 and going peacefully 17 July 2009, Gerry had a great 76 years.

In his time, Gerry was brother to seven brothers and sisters, husband to two wives, father to one daughter and two sons and many other things to many people. Gerry was in the regular and territorial armies, ultimately as WO2 with QOWWY.

Mad about driving and doing things the "right" way, anyone who knew Gerry knows that he was a man with much integrity. In his final years he undertook much work with the Royal British Legion as a caseworker, helping those with social and financial problems tirelessly. Eventually, however, after fighting off one cancer almost completely, he died of liver cancer. For these reasons, I have set up this page www.JustGiving.com/GerryFareyRBL and www.JustGiving.com/GerryFareyCRUK to allow funds to be raised in his memory.

It's 1 year since he died next week and I hope that anyone who has a few spare minutes and a few spare pounds can help further the work my Dad was doing or the work that is being done to help not only old people with liver cancer, but also young people with all sorts of cancers. He would rather see people do a little than miss him or lay flowers where his ashes are.

So please take your pick by either donating here or at the Cancer Research UK site, it doesn't have to be much, just don't forget.

P.S. If you have any photos of GG, please send them to jim@jimfarey.com and I'll add them here.
