Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. For the last two years we have run the Great North Run and Great South Run and raised, with your help, a substantial amount of money for HOME-START UK. This year we have taken on a new challenge. As before we are taking part in the Great South Run which takes place on 25th October. This is a 10 mile flat course which takes us round the streets of Portsmouth including a section through the Historic Dockyard past HMS Victory. We are hoping this year that the weather will be kinder than last where we endured a very wet run. Prior to this on Sunday 11th October our new challenge is the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon. This run starts in Hyde Park and takes us through St James Park, past the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye. We head towards Admiralty Arch then through The Green Park, back to Hyde Park past Kensington Gardens and the Royal Albert Hall to the finish. We are really looking forward to this new challenge and once again we are raising money for our chosen charity of HOME-START UK, a great charity that supports over 340 local Home-Start Schemes. Being a parent , looking after children 24 hours a day is tough - and even more difficult without the support of a loving family and friends. Thankfully, Home-Start volunteers can offer the non-judgemental and friendly support that familes need when their chilfren are young. Just being alongside and offering a listening ear every week can often make the difference between coping and not coping.
