Thank you QEF Brain Injury Centre for sponsoring me, thanks Hannah for going round with sponsor sheet and for collecting afterwards.

Race Day - 25th April 2010 - The day started well, had to catch the 6.34 train to Greenwich. Weather was looking good until we lined up for the race and then the heavens opened. By the time we started the rain had stopped. The atmosphere and spectators were superb.

I would like to thank Angie, Suzie and Aunty Rosie and families turning out to cheer me on in the first half of the marathon. It was great to see faces you knew. I managed to finish the first half in 3 hours, cheered on by my family at tower bridge.

Running round Canary Wharf was really hard, but it was really nice to see Judith, Helen and David and my family cheering me on along the embankment.

I crossed the finish line in 7hours and 3minutes.

I wish to thank everyone that sponsored and supported me over the last year, especialy my Hubby, who is looking forward to lie ins on a Sunday.

16th April - one week to go - going to take it easy this week - running shirts have arrived - all supporters don't forget the banners!!!  I have running number now which is 45108.

New photo of my running partner taken in September at the adidas run in Hyde Park 2009.

Update: Four weeks to go - getting nervous now - one more long run to do then wind down to the day -it is much tougher than I realised!

Most of you know the reason why I am running the London Marathon but for those who don't this is the story.

My daughter Emily contracted Meninigitis/Encephalitis in Sept 2006 - lucky for her she survived thanks to the dedicated staff at East Surrey Hospital ITU and St Georges Hospital ITU.  Emily spent a total of 7 months in Hospital, two months in a coma and on life support.  Due to some brain damage Emily has had to re-learn how to do everything - things we all take for granted - from speaking, eating, sitting, writing and walking.

After three months in a NHS Rehabilitation Centre Emily was sent to the Queen Elizabeth Foundation in Banstead.  The main aim to give Emily a quality of life that we all enjoy and take for granted.

She has achieved beyond our expectations and when she leaves in July she is going on the college to study for an HND.  Whilst at the centre she has learnt to drive again which has now given her confidence.  Her recovery is on-going and eventually we hope she will walk unaided one day.

To thank those involved in her care, I have set myself a goal - 'to run the London Marathon' in aid of Queen Elizabeth Foundation.

I now ask you to all to dig deep and sponsor me.
